Risk Management Policy

Draft policy: for review and approval by Anik Shipping Lines management and its legal adviser before publication.

Purpose

To identify, assess and control the risks that could affect our people, our principals or our business.

Scope

All operations, commercial activities and support functions.

Our commitments

• Keep a register of the key risks to our operations and review it regularly.
• Assess each new port call, cargo or project for specific risks before accepting it.
• Plan for emergencies, including weather, port closures and medical cases, and know who to call.
• Hold appropriate insurance for our liabilities as an agent and logistics provider.
• Learn from incidents and near misses by updating our controls.

Responsibilities

• Management owns the risk register and the response to major risks.
• Staff raise new risks as soon as they spot them.

Review

This policy is reviewed at least once a year by management, and whenever operations, regulations or risks change.
